Audition Notice for "The Hallelujah Girls"

If you ever watched "The Golden Girls" on tv, or watched "The Savannah Sipping Society" performed on our very own Naked Stage, then you are familiar with the work of the playwrights who wrote "The Hallelujah Girls". Bridget Browning will be directing our readers theatre rendition.

The cast is comprised of 8 characters and we are holding auditions to cast 5. Because the play takes place in Georgia, all actors need to be able to perform with a southern accent. We need to cast for the following:

Nita Mooney - female 50- 60 years, a sweet simple country woman
Crystal Hart -  female 50's, daffy and loveable and must be a decent singer
Sugar Lee Thompkins - female 50's and the unspoken leader of the Hallelujah Girls
Bobby Dwayne Dillahunt - male 50's, has a self deprecating sense of humor and charming manner
Porter Padgett - male 50's, a good-hearted, gregarious blowhard

Auditions are by appointment only and will take place on April 2, from 10:00 - 3:00 pm at Newton Cultural Centre, 13530-72 Avenue, Surrey.

Rehearsals will take place at Newton Cultural Centre from 6:30 - 9:00 pm on April 13, 19, May 4,11,18,25. On June 2 there will be a tech run from6:00 - 9:00 and the performances will be June 3 and 4 from 7:30 - 9:30 and on June 5 from 2:00 -4:00 pm.
